| Government of India has laid a major impetus on renewable energy with special emphasis on bio-fuel production to reduce dependency on fossil fuels. The focus is on using bio-fuel including bio-ethanol and bio-diesel for blending with conventional diesel and petrol. The project aims to study how biofuels could be produced in an efficient manner and how their production could be useful in environmental management on a sustainable basis which in turn could help in increased energy security. The study will be of immense help in reformulating the bio-fuel strategies for the country. This will pave way for implementing the new methodologies learnt during the fellowship tenure to the current program on bio-fuels being supported by the Government of India across the country. The study is expected to help in adopting the technologies which are environment friendly. |
