Project Title: | Honeybee Health Management for Sustainable Beekeeping: Experience in the U.S. and relevance to India |
Abstract of Project : | |
Bees are important components of natural ecosystems and play a crucial role as efficient pollinators in both agriculture and wild flora. Honeybee health is inextricably linked to the health of the entire environment, including our own. A current epidemic called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) is affecting honeybees throughout the U.S. and many other countries. A better understanding of bee dynamics and its management is very essential and urgently required. The present study aims to assess the causes of CCD by using advanced research techniques like Integrated Virus Detection System and Proteomics - Mass Spectrometry, and study the current status of scientific methods in bee health management in the U.S. |
