Project Title: | Use of System Dynamics to develop a Holistic Paradigm for Environmental Education and Integrate the Concept of Sustainable Development |
Abstract of Project : | |
Understanding environmental problems requires enhancing the quality of prevailing decision-making processes. System Dynamics takes into account the dynamic interrelationships between the components and sub-components of the complex systems underlying environmental issues. It can thus provide a fit paradigm to deal with sustainable development, the overarching goal in the environmental arena. If this awareness of interdependence and pervasive influence of factors in environmental processes is communicated and demonstrated to students in higher education, they will be better decision-makers. I hope to develop the paradigm for environmental education that is holistic and that conveys the concept of sustainable development and continue research in the application of this promising tool. |
