INDIAN FULBRIGHT ALUMNUS HONORED FOR IMPROVING ACCESS TO JUSTICE FOR UNDERSERVED

The Society of Indian Law Firms and the Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training conferred “Legal Education Innovation Award 2012” on Fulbright alumnus Ajay Kumar Pandey. This award was bestowed on him for improving access to justice for the underserved communities. Professor Pandey was a recipient of the 2005-2006 Fulbright-Vanderbilt Fellowship in Clinical Legal Education at the Vanderbilt University Law School, Nashville.

 

Upon his return to India, Professor Pandey has taken a lead role in establishing rural law service clinics in the state of Haryana in India. These clinics are instrumental in educating underserved communities about their rights and obligations under law. Currently, Professor Pandey serves as an Executive Director (Clinical Program) at Jindal Global Law School, Sonepat. He has been instrumental in engaging his students to run legal aid clinics and provide legal aid to the underserved.
