Manasa Suresh, 2013 U.S. Fulbright-Nehru Student Researcher to India, received the 2015 Times Thyagaraja Award for her work in Carnatic Music.

She says, “I came to Chennai on a Fulbright Scholarship to study Carnatic music and undergo intense face-to-face training under my music teacher. It was through my Fulbright scholarship that I was able to learn in-depth about the theoretical aspects of Carnatic music and refine my performance technique.
