Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research program, 2009-10 alumna, Purnima Rao has compiled and edited Sharing Experiences: Varied Voices, a book published in March 2012 by the Karnataka State Open University. Her book deals particularly with Theatre Arts, providing special focus to the use of Fine Arts in Education. Rao brought together a wide variety of authors including students, teachers and administrators from India and US to contribute to the book. The research inputs and experiences recorded in it have immense scope for application in the Open Distance Learning mode as an educational tool. After completing her Fulbright Nehru tenure, she has delivered talks on her fellowship experiences on several platforms as well.

Rao is a professor at the Department of English, Karnataka State Open University, Mysore. During her Fulbright Nehru tenure, she worked on Education at the University of Texas in Austin.
