Smriti Sharma, a recipient of the 2014-15 ?USIEF Alumni Award grant conducted two workshops for teacher educators of District Institutes of Educational Training (DIET) at Gurgaon and Delhi.

The objective of the workshops were to prepare teachers who are able to question and address issues of difference, diversity and depravity so as to ensure nurturing of an over-riding identity of each child. Using visual materials, such as documentaries, films and advertisements, the workshops were broadly aimed to sensitize teachers to the issue of discrimination in society.
