Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Program

The Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Program offers opportunities for primary and secondary school teachers, as well as professionals involved in teacher training, to study at an Indian research center or university. During the program, participants work on an inquiry project of their own design. They also have the opportunity to:

  • Take advanced undergraduate or graduate-level courses
  • Team-teach in local schools
  • Conduct seminars or workshops for Indian teachers
  • Engage in other teaching-related activities

Upon returning home, teachers are expected to share the knowledge and experiences gained from the program with their students, colleagues, and communities.

Program Duration 3-6 months

Eligibility: Eligible applicants include current full-time teachers (primary through secondary levels), guidance counselors, curriculum specialists, curriculum heads, coordinators for Talented and Gifted programs, Special Education coordinators, media specialists/librarians, and other educators who spend at least 50% of their time working directly with students. Alumni of other Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programs are also eligible to apply.
